Labz of Sussex Family
Here are some of the other family members here at Labz of Sussex.  In
addition to those seen here, we have a pond full of goldfish and koi, and two
baby water turtles called Shrek and Fiona.
Calvin Theodore- Calvin is an African
Grey and is eight years old.  He was
born on May 5, 1998.  Calvin loves to
talk and calls all the dogs by name,
even our new puppy Clay.  His favorite
sayings are "No Journey!" "Journey Off"
and "Come here Clay."  He is so smart!
He also loves cartoons.  His favorite is
the Nickelodeon show "Rugrats."  He
likes to imitate Phil and Lil.  He also
acts as an alarm clock in the morning
by yelling, "Nicki!"  Most of what he says
is not taught, he just picks it up.
Selma's Bitter Sweet Moment
Also known as Sadie Beth.  Sadie was
bought from Selma, NC after Chunki
died.  I knew I wanted another pup to
follow in Chunki's steps as a therapy
dog.  It was too hard for me to get
another lab, so I bought a Shih Tzu.
Sadie was born on January 11, 2005
and is full of energy.  She is in training
for therapy work, agility, and obedience.
She has graduated from a Puppy
Kindergarten Class, a Puppy Beginner
Obedience class, and a Canine Good
Citizens (CGC) class.  Sadie will be
going to Rally classes.  We are hoping to
get a couple of titles in rally and
obedience and then agility!  She also
passed her CGC test.  Being the first
little dog I have ever had it has been a
whole new experience, but it has also
been a great one!
Cooter Cat- Cooter was a stray
kitten that we found on the way to
our vet's office.  We figured out that
his birthday was around the
beginning of August, so we chose
August 8, 2005.  We named him
after Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard.
Cooter is our only cat, but swears
that he is a dog.  He truly is the King
of the house!
Boss Hog & Lulu
Boss (blue) and Lulu (yellow) are the
two newest members of our family.
They were also named for characters
from Dukes of Hazzard.  We are
hoping to one day get some little
keets from them.
Lillyann Whitney- Lilly came from the
local SPCA.  She is a three year old
English Foxhound.  She is a very shy
dog.  She used to spend a lot of time
under the bed, but is getting better.
She loves to be outside and with other
dogs.  Lilly gets to start obedience
classes soon.  Unfortunately, her
former owner did not train her in
obedience.  We are hoping to build up
her self confidence enough to be able
to work in rally.
Trouble- Trouble was a wild kitten
found not far from our home.  We are
now fostering her.  Her mom is a wild
manx and her dad we believe is the
maine coon mix that is running around.
Trouble came to our home when she
was about 4.5 -5 weeks old.  I have
been working from her from day one
and is doing great with people now.
She loves to play and is full of energy.  The
name came from the first day I got her, she
was scared and tried to scratch and we told
her she was a bunch of trouble and the name
just stuck.  If you are interested in adopting
this wonderful little girl, use the Contact Us
page.  She has had two sets of shots and her
rabies shot.
